2012 NEWS
21-FEB-2012 - BAWBURGH WINS "GOLMARK CLUB OF THE YEAR"!
We are very excited to announce that Bawburgh Golf Club has been announced as the winner of England Golf's GolfMark Club of the Year for 2012 at the national awards dinner at Woodhall Spa. Bawburgh has worked very hard to ensure it provides excellent facilities for juniors and beginners alike, as well as top-class coaching and a friendly, safe playing environment. Already a holder of the GolfMark High Achiever status, the first in Norfolk to reach this standard, Bawburgh has now been recognised for all it's efforts on a national level.
Congratulations to all the staff, members and volunteers for making this possible.

Afterwards, there will be refreshments at Glen Lodge and any members playing golf or just visiting the clubhouse on that day are asked to respect the circumstances.

16-JAN-2012 - Message from Men's Club Captain, Paul Took:
For my sins, I have now accepted the role as Captain of Bawburgh Golf Club for 2012. I am looking forward to getting to know as many members as possible and have one or two ideas that I hope I can implement during my year. One of my more pleasurable tasks is to nominate a group or person that I would like to support with various charity events, in particular Captains Day and the Charity Stableford, but I am hopeful that there will be many other occasions which arise that will help boost the fund.
My initial thought is to help an individual or local family that have a particular hardship, whether it be through a disability, accident or unforeseen circumstances. It would be especially nice if the sum we raise will make a significant difference whereas, sometimes, when monies are given to larger, albeit very worthwhile organisations, the money is just swept up into a general pot.
Before I contact existing charity organisations, I would like to ask if any member is aware of any person that they know who would be able to benefit from such a gesture. I appreciate that this can be a delicate area but it would be nice to help someone that has connections to the club, albeit tenuously. Any suggestion will of course be treated in total confidence. Please feel free to contact me through the office at the golf club.
Kind regards and I wish you all the best for 2012.
Paul Took
